At Meridian School Uppal, we are proud to host a dynamic Music Club for aspiring musicians in Grades 6-10. Meeting weekly, the club offers a structured and engaging curriculum that combines technical skill-building with the joy of musical exploration. From mastering basic rhythms to exploring instrument techniques, the Music Club is a space where students can deepen their love for music while honing their talents.
The sessions begin with foundational topics like the importance of a metronome and its role in maintaining rhythm, followed by an exploration of dynamics to understand variations in sound intensity. Students also embark on their guitar journey, learning the instrument's parts, practicing finger exercises, and identifying string names. Each activity is designed to build confidence and proficiency step by step.
As the curriculum progresses, students dive into essential music theory, including the grand staff, treble and bass clefs, note names, and values like whole, half, and quarter notes. They also explore the concept of rests and are introduced to the C chords family, enabling them to start creating melodies of their own.

Each session covers a variety of topics, starting with the Current Affairs Quiz, where students stay informed and test their knowledge of global events. They also enjoy the Puzzle Paradox, solving mind-bending puzzles that enhance their problem-solving skills. The Topnotch Tangram activity further boosts creativity and spatial reasoning through challenging puzzles.
As part of the club's vocabulary-building focus, Gleaming Glossary helps students expand their word power, while the Digital Citizenship Quiz teaches them the importance of responsible online behavior. Students also delve into the Social Justice Movements Timeline, learning about key historical events, and explore Cultural Diversity Trivia, gaining a deeper understanding of the world’s diverse cultures.
